Just Breathe…

Introducing the “Life-Love” Breathing Method

Like most kids with any kind of athletic ability, I was always playing some sport or another from an early age. Baseball, football, basketball, gymnastics, tennis, volleyball, etc. Throughout all the different sports I played and then getting into martial arts and yoga when I was older, there was one phrase that I heard over and over again from my various coaches and trainers: “Breathe through the pain”.

If you’ve participated in any type of sports or physical training/conditioning, you’ve probably heard it too. The idea is simple enough. If you get enough oxygen going through your system, it’ll help to dull down the pain signal by overriding it with O2. Well, at least that was the thought given to us from our coaches. While it seemed to work somewhat, it never worked like I thought they meant for it to work, and when I asked my friends and teammates about it, they too said it “sorta worked” for them, but not so much, really.

It wasn’t until the mid ’80s while I was attending metaphysical classes at the Psychic Eye book store in Burbank, CA. that I was given the real way to breathe when dealing with either physical or emotional pain. Our teacher, Alan Schwartz, was always bringing in guest speakers from various esoteric, spiritual and metaphysical modalities for us to learn from. One of those teachers was the very wonderful Master Paulie Zink.

Master Zink is a Grand Champion and Hall of Fame martial artist and yoga master, so he’s eminently familiar with pain. He said, “Don’t breathe through the pain, breathe into the pain.” The technique that he gave us was to visualize our breath literally going into the area of the body that the pain signal was coming from. He said, “See your breath going from your lungs as you breathe in, and going to the pain and going into the pain. See the pain being reduced and removed as you breathe into it.” He also taught us to use this same method to reduce stress, tension and to let go of emotional pain.

Release Release

It absolutely worked. Others in the class, after going through the breathing exercises, told of how they were definitely feeling a major reduction in either pain or stress (and sometimes both). I wasn’t dealing with any physical pain at the time, but I could feel my stress level (due to my job at the time) drop about 80% from what it was. The tension I had been feeling in my trapezius muscles (the muscles between your shoulder and neck) was almost completely gone.

It’s interesting, isn’t it, that we can spend our whole lives doing something all day, every day (’cause we have to) and then learn how to do it better and in a way that will benefit us on all levels. The best part of the whole thing is how easy it is, and that you can do this anywhere that you can give yourself two minutes away from distractions. The feelings of relief and calmness that follows the exercise are amazing. As a former CPR instructor, another thing that I equated with this technique is that we are breathing “life” into those areas that need “rejuvenating”. That was again further enhanced when I started learning from Stuart Wilde about “blowing love” at people and things that could use it. Breathing life and love into our own being. What a wonderful gift to give to ourselves. That’s why I am calling it the “Life-Love” method.

The “Life-Love” Breathing technique

So, here is the better way to breathe and the visualization as I now use it and teach it. You can modify the visualization part to suit your needs: First off, just as a matter of habit and for better health, start breathing so that your stomach expands/protrudes instead of your chest. This allows you to breathe deeper. By breathing in this way, you are getting much more oxygen into your body, which will help your immune system and help keep your bodies energy up. Breathe as deeply and easily as you can, in through your nose and exhale as much air as you can out through your mouth. Just this alone will slow your heart rate down and begin to release body tension.

Now, sitting or lying down in a comfortable position, ground yourself, close your eyes and as you breathe in, direct your “life-love” breath into the area of your body that is experiencing pain. See the energy of life and love going right into the pain and see that beautiful energy diminishing it. As you breathe out, see the pain reducing further and further, until the pain is completely gone. Yes, you can absolutely reduce the pain to nothingness if you allow yourself to let it go. If what you are dealing with is emotional pain, then first breathe into the area of your physical body that is in pain, then see your “life-love” breath going into the emotion you are feeling and reducing it just as easily as it reduced your body pain.

As you let the pain go, forgive yourself for putting yourself in pain. Forgive whoever else is involved if there is anyone that contributed to the pain. Know that it’s ok to let it go and that you do not have to be in pain to get the lesson you wanted to get. If, while you are doing this, the pain feels “stuck”, then use this more advanced grounding technique to help unstick it. Don’t be upset if you don’t let go of the pain completely the first time you use this method. Everyone is different and each of us has a different level of resistance to letting things go. The “habit” of the pain can be very strong, especially if it’s something you’ve been experiencing for a long time, so be gentle and easy with yourself. If it takes one time to let it go, that’s ok. If it takes 20 times to let it go, that’s ok. There is no right or wrong here. Just relief, and you will feel relief each time you use this to let go of any pain you are dealing with.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and we’d love to hear your stories of how this worked for you.

I wish you all Deep Peace. =)

Advanced Grounding Techniques – Part 2

Hello everyone. Today I want to give you another Advanced Grounding Technique that I have seen help countless clients, family and friends to reduce their fear, stress and anxiety levels dramatically.

If you have not read my previous posts on grounding, be sure to read them first so that you are familiar with the terms and main techniques. You can find the first one here: Staying Grounded… and the second one here: Advanced Grounding Techniques Once you’ve gotten the previous techniques down, then come back to this post.

Ok, so you have your body, chakras and aura grounded. You’re in your place of power in the center of your head, and you’re relaxed and calm. Now is a great time to use the next technique. This one involves your negative emotions and the pictures in your memory that causes those emotions to come up. Whenever we think about a past experience, whether positive or negative, the first thing that happens is we “see” a picture of the event in our mind’s eye. Then, based on our feelings and the experience we had at that time, we then express an emotion about that picture.

Everyone does this, and we do it all the time. There is not any time when we do not feel an emotion about a past experience, unless you have really trained yourself to be in neutrality, and you are able to look at your life experiences from that neutral space. Suffice it to say that the majority of people have not trained themselves in that fashion, so they are indeed feeling an emotion about their past. Ok, so you think of a past experience and have an emotion about it. The question then becomes, “How does this effect me?”

You have all had the experience of thinking about a memory that was not pleasant and then having negative emotions come up about that experience. For some, these emotions can become overwhelming due to the nature of the memory and what took place. I have helped many people that suffer panic/anxiety attacks and found that they all are going through this process in an extreme way. Something triggers a memory of a “bad time” and they go into panic mode. As anyone who has suffered such an attack can tell you, it’s completely debilitating. Most people practically freeze in place; their bodies are completely overwhelmed by the fear emotion and they cannot hardly breathe, much less move.

The Technique

As with anything in life, each of us feels these things to varying degrees, but the main point is that the negative emotions do not feel good. You can change that now, by utilizing this process and letting those fear based emotions go. Just like I talked about in the first Advanced Grounding Techniques post, you can give a grounding cord to basically anything, as we are dealing with energy, and energy can be manipulated to work for you on any level. This technique is just as easy and simple as the others are. When you remember something that causes you to feel a negative emotion, see in your minds eye the picture that is there and give that picture it’s own grounding cord. Once you’ve set up the cord to the center of the earth, set it on release and see all the negative emotions associated with that picture being released down the cord.

While this is happening, forgive yourself for whatever brought that memory up to your consciousness; also forgive yourself for the original situation you found yourself in. Be thankful and grateful for what the experience taught you, and let it go with love and peace. Remember, there really are only two emotions. At any given time, you are either feeling love or fear. All the emotions we have labels for fit into one of those two main categories. As Abraham says, you really only have two choices: To feel better or to feel worse.

Depending on how intense the feeling is for the particular memory you’re reviewing, you may feel immediate relief on a huge level, or you may just feel calmer than you did when the memory came up. There is no right or wrong way to feel when you do this. Any relief is a good thing. For most situations, you may only need to ground the picture one time to let the negative energy go. If you have a greater attachment to the memory, it may require a few times to get it to the point where you don’t have the negative emotions bombard you whenever you think about that picture.

By doing this process when you are in a calm, relaxed state to begin with, you can let go a lot more as there is little to no resistance inside yourself. You can also do this “on the fly”, as it were, when something comes up for you. Find a place where you can sit down for a few minutes and ground yourself and the picture the best you can. Get as centered as possible and try to allow the release to happen. Don’t worry if you don’t feel like you were able to ground it when the emotion first hits if you are not in a place to do so comfortably. Just tell the emotion that you’ll deal with it later. I’ve seen that work amazingly well on many occasions. Once you are in your safe environment, no matter where that is, go through the process as I’ve laid it out and re-set a new grounding cord on that picture.

The more you practice these techniques, the better you will feel overall. By the very act of consciously letting go of the negative emotions, forgiving yourself and being at peace with what was, you are telling yourself that you want to feel more good emotions in your life. Because that becomes your predominant thought and feeling, you bring to yourself better feeling thoughts and experiences. As you do that, you will find that you can accomplish more in, and with, your life.

Please leave a comment to let us know your experiences with this or if you have any questions.

Deep Peace,

Law of Attraction – Methods and Techniques: Part 2

Seeing Is Believing

Of course, what I’m talking about here is using visualization as a tool to help you manifest what you want. You’ve written down what your desire is, you believe you can have it and you are giving yourself permission and allowing it into your reality. To give all of that an immense energetic boost, you plug into your natural ability to visualize the object or situation.

By going into any form of meditation that you choose and calming the mind chatter, you can very quickly bring into sharp focus in your minds eye exactly what you want. You can see it in great detail. You can hear the sounds it makes if it makes any. You can smell any scents that come from it. You can touch it, not only on a emotional feeling level, but on a physical one as well. Yes indeed, you can actually “touch” a visualization. Many people, myself included, have had the sensation while visualizing something strongly, that we were in actual physical contact with the thing being visualized.

One thing to be aware of when doing your visualization is to not get too caught up in fine details. In other words, don’t try to “micro manage” it down to the last molecule. You’ll make yourself nuts trying to get into that much detail, and you’ll have the feeling that it isn’t “right” or “correct”. That will most definitely cause a resistant energy inside you that will block what you want from coming. Yes, you want to be specific, but you don’t have to have a “perfect” picture to have it manifest. (I’ll be discussing “perfect pictures” in another post.)

Now that you have a good visual of the thing you want, place yourself with it. If it’s an object, see yourself holding it, if it’s small enough to hold, or next to it if it’s something big like a house or car. If it’s a situation, then see yourself being in that situation and interacting with it and anyone involved with it. In both instances, give yourself the idea of enjoying the feeling of being there, either with the object or situation. Feel gratitude that you have what you want in the visualization. If this seems akward to you, remember how you felt when you received something that you wanted. Remember how thankful and grateful you were for it and how it felt to have it in your reality. Now transfer that good feeling to the new thing in your minds eye.

Letting Go and Going With the Flow

Sit with this visualization for at least 5 minutes. When you are done, allow yourself to come back into a present state of mind and allow yourself to feel the peace and joy of the thing you want coming to you, and then go about whatever you are to do next, and let the object go. What I mean by that is if you keep the desire constantly in your mind, you’ll notice all the time that you don’t have it yet. One thing you want to avoid is over-thinking about what you want. This sets up more resistance inside your energy, because you want what you want, but it’s not here yet. By letting it go after you’ve visualized it, you are giving yourself permission to let the energy unfold naturally and you are allowing yourself to be at peace with the time it takes to receive it.

Stuart Wilde talks alot about yearning for, and leaning energetically into your desire and how that pushes what you want away from you and he’s absolutely correct. The more you reach for it from the place of “I don’t have this desire met yet”, the more it doesn’t show up. You have to be relaxed and calm about the timing of it showing up. Once you are in that place of peace and energetic relaxation about it, it’ll show up quicker than you thought it would. Also, the more you practice being neutral to “when” your desire shows up, the faster all of your desires show up. You can see this in your own experience by remembering when other desires showed up for you. How long did they take to manifest? You’ll find that the more relaxed you were about it, the less time it took, and the more you yearned and longed for and leaned into the desire, the longer it took.

“You really only have two choices. To feel worse or to feel better.” – Abraham

This goes back to my Second Level posts and the nature of duality that we deal with in this life. It is also a very true statement, but most people don’t realize that they are the ones who have the ability to decide how they feel at any given moment. No matter what happens, it’s your choice to decide to feel worse or better about it. The more you choose to feel better about it, the less resistance you place in your energy, the more what you want and desire comes to you. The wonderful thing about this is that you can change how you feel in an instant. It isn’t hard and doesn’t take any effort to do it either. You simply decide how you are going to feel and that’s how you will feel.

Now, did you feel any resistance to what you just read? I’ve had many people tell me that they can’t change how they feel “just like that”, and I ask them why not? The typical response is that it’s not easy. To that I say that’s because you have been practicing how hard it is instead of how easy it is. Then they say “that’s easier said than done” and I tell them no, it’s as easy as said as done. Remember, your words and your thoughts have power. If you say and decide you are going to feel better right here, right now in this present moment, then you will. It is ALWAYS your choice. The more you realize and understand that, the easier it is for you to change anything in your life you want to, including your emotions. The other thing to remember is that noone has the power to “make” you feel anything. Only you have that power. Decide to feel better in each situation, and you will not only achieve the desires you want, you will also greatly reduce any stress in your life.

More techniques to come in Part 3. Stay tuned in, tapped in and turned on. =)

Bright Blessings!
